The H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute, Inc. (“Moffitt” or “Moffitt Cancer Center” or “the center”), located in Tampa,
Florida, was incorporated in 1984 as a not-for-profit corporation. Moffitt Cancer Center was established in 1981 by the Florida Legislature
to address the state’s cancer burden. The center was named after H. Lee Moffitt, former Speaker of the Florida House of Representatives.
In 1982, as the incoming speaker of the Florida House of Representatives, Mr. Morntt worked tirelessly to influence legislation that
established a cancer center In Tampa. Moffitt Cancer Center is the only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer
Center based in Florida and is dedicated to one lifesaving missIon: to contribute to the prevention and cure of cancer.
